This regulation of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act forbids the intentional disabling of an operational TPMS system, but under some conditions, may allow for avoidance of repairing a previously non-operational system. Be sure to follow local laws/ensure state inspection compliance. And, it is always recommended to fully maintain the TPMS system for the improved tire/vehicle safety and efficiency benefits.
