The malfunction indicator light is illuminated on the dashboard when there is a communication failure between a tire pressure sensor(s) and the vehicle’s receiver/on-board computer. This light flashes for 60-90 seconds when the malfunction is identified and again upon subsequent vehicle start ups, followed by a solid light. The cycle continues until the malfunction is corrected. Most vehicles also require a vehicle relearn or reset to clear the light.
